Winter Holidays in Zell am See

Up in the mountains and into a winter paradise! With its top ski area, our region is the holiday paradise for winter sports. The ski season even starts early in autumn and lasts all the way till early summer. You can rent your ski-equipment directly at the Feriendorf Oberreit or online in advance by our partner (www.ski-mobil.at).

Duck and weave down the slopes with a gorgeous view! Near our cabins in Zell am See, a true ski paradise is awaiting discovery: from spectacular steep slopes through beginner slopes and everything in between, from professionals to new skiers, everyone can find their perfect slope.

The heart of every skier will rejoice over the powdered snow before winter and superb firn snow tours from February onwards. The skiing area of Europe’s sportregion Zell am See – Kaprun, with its glaciers and the Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm- Leogang-Fieberbrunn is only a couple minutes away from out cabins. A bus is also available daily from our door and will take you to the ski area Saalbach-Hinerglemm Leogang, completely free.

But you don’t have to be on the slopes to be active. A well-prepared cross-country ski network also exists for the cross-country skiers from Saalfelden to Maria Alm.

A bobsled through the snow-covered land on our bobsled tracks is sure to be an unforgettable experience and fun for the young and the still young-at-heart. Fill up your energy on a refreshing walk through the snowy woods or around lake Zell. Or enjoy the winter trails around 2000 m up on the Schmittenhöhe with a tour guide.

Ski Slopes around Zell am See – Kaprun

Schmittenhöhe and Zell am See

The Ski pass Zell am See – Kaprun opens up the possibility to 408 km of slopes and 121 ski lifts. Between the Schmittenhöhe and the Familienberg Maiskogel is a famous glacier with guaranteed snow from October through May. With the new connection Schmittenhöhe - Glemmtal you have the biggest ski area in Austria with Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn.

Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang

This ski resort doesn’t get its renowned status just from the Alpine Ski-WM in 1991. Unders its motto of “100% Best of Snow”, austrias biggest ski area in Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn offers all winter sport fans around 270 km of the best prepared slopes with panorama views as well as 70 modern ski lifts. A free bus from our cabins will bring you to the snow paradise just 10 km away. With the new connection with the Schmittenhöhe Zell am See 408 km of slopes and 121 ski lifts are waiting for you.

Kitzsteinhorn

The Kitzsteinhorn Glacier ski resort attracts sporty skiers and snowboarders, deep-snow fans, ski tourers, cross-country skiers, winter hikers and snow park freestylers from autumn until far into spring.

Enjoyable turns on wide natural snow pistes with stunning views to the three thousand metres high mountains of the Hohe Tauern National Park, the Steinberge Mountains and the Zell Basin.

Sightseeing guests at the Gipfelwelt 3000 marvel the stunning view from 3000 metres, admire the spectacular ice art in the ICE CAMP presented by Audi, or take part in one of the weekly tours. Afterwards numerous huts and mountain restaurants are waiting for a delightful break.

Maishofen – Cross Country Skiing

Because of its prime position in a few kilometers you can reach three top ski areas  ( Schmittenhöhe - Zell am See, Gletscherskigebiet Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun und den Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm).

For children and beginner skiers there is a (free) practice ski lift in Maishofen next to Schloss Kammer, perfect for the first steps in the snow.

A broad cross-country ski network with markers and guides as well night lit ski paths, make Maishofen a Mekka for cross-country skiers. The Maishofer cross-country ski trails are connected to Saalfelden’s network, which in the past years have grown to a cross-country and biathlon center in Austria.

150 km of well-tended cross-country ski trails are here for every style. These trails reach from the neighboring Maria Alm, to Leogang, and even to Biathlon World Cup metropolis Hochfilzen.

Nitro Snowpark am Asitz - Leogang

In Nitro Snow Park in Asitz is fun guaranteed for all boarders: It has the best training possibilities for all Frestylers and is a little secret tip for everyone on the search for an adrenaline rush.

Perfectly formed obstacles with corners, big air kickers as well as multiple rails and boxes are ready for use. The park has challenges for every level of rider.
